SOP- COVID-19 Safety Precautions

Policy:

At Shangrila Resort Hotel-Skardu, we wish to closely monitor the situation regarding novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) to ensure our guests have access to the most up-to-date information and are supported by the most effective safety precautions. The health, safety and wellbeing of our guests, along with our staff, is our paramount priority. 

How: 

We will be following the latest guidelines from the WHO & National Tourism Coordination Board’s Guidelines and are in contact with local Administration too. All employees have been trained in the correct protocols and procedures to ensure guests’ safety. All of our team members are required to follow strict hand hygiene policies, especially before eating or preparing food and after using the bathroom. 

We also encourage guests to wash their hands regularly with soap and warm water during their stay. Shangrila Resort Hotel- Skardu has increased its already-strict health and safety precautions, in order to ensure the safety of both guests and employees.

Henceforth, we will conduct healthy procedures as follows:

 A Folder 

A Folder has been place in each room in their first touch point, so that you know what we are doing at this time to ensure your safety and what is expected from you for your own safety and also the mandatory requirements as per the health authorities.

Front of the House

Guest Transport

• The driver is wearing protective gear such as mask, gloves etc.
• The vehicle is disinfected with every arrival.
• No none is allowed to sits on front seat with driver.
• Driver has Sanitizer for the use of the Guests.
• Driver is instructed to limit conversations to minimal.

Main Entrance Gate

• • Temperature checks at entrance is mandatory.
  • Guests running a temperature of more than 98.6° F are politely asked to return or will be directed to the closest hospital/medical facility.
  • Passing through a sanitizing walk thorough gate is mandatory.
  • Guest luggage is disinfected, cleaned and Room tagged after informing the Guests (This procedure is done for the guests who are at the Resort to check in).

• A mask is mandatory at all times during your stay while you are out in Public areas at Shangrila Resort Hotel.

Reception / Check-In

• • If you are from any other country or region we need to have detailed information from you upfront before arrival and at the time of booking a Room. 
  • For all pre-booked Guests all check-in formalities are completed online to reduce contact and time at the front desk. 
  • A one week old Coronavirus test report in negative is mandatory prior to arrival. It should be mailed to the hotel prior to the arrival of the Guest.  In case of non-compliance, Check-In to the Resort can be denied politely.

• Floor markers are there for social distancing at the time of Check-in.

Guest Rooms

• Rooms are sanitized with disinfectant spray at a regular intervals.
• Guests instructions are given at the reception include instructions on how the rooms are sanitized at regular intervals.
• All Housekeeping Associates at the premises are wearing safety gear.
• Sanitizers are available in small dispensers along with the amenities in the room.
• Room linen will be changed once in two days or ONLY on request; no turn down services is available to facilitate minimal contact.

Restaurants

• Due to Pandemic all Restaurants are closed except BBQ; Food can be ordered in Rooms or can be enjoyed at the BBQ at the following times. Complimentary Breakfast will also be served in Room. Guest may have his meals at Terrace in front of the Room too.

Breakfast 6:30 am –   10:00 am

Lunch 12:00 noon  – 3:00 pm

Dinner 7:30 pm – 11:00 pm

• .A snack Bar is also operational; where a fast food menus is served in disposable packing. 

Open: 11:00 am – 11:00 pm   –

Check-out

• • Guests will also be advised to inform their check-out plans in advance so that bills can be made ready before their arrival at Front Desk to avoid crowding.

• Floor markers are there for check-outs too.

Back of the House

Employee Clock-in

• Temperature is checked for all employee on clocking into the premises of the hotel and second time at 4:00 pm. Staff running temperature more than 98.6° F are asked to return to their rooms.
• Attendance is taken on register instead of Biometry.

Employee Uniform

• Uniform exchange daily is the norm.
• Uniform is sanitized properly; Washed in machines with detergents and sanitizers and for pressing, hot Iron is used.
• Employees are given masks and gloves as part of the uniform across all departments.

Staff accommodation

• Duty shifts are staggered in various 15 minutes slot to ensure there is no overcrowding in the Washrooms & Toilets and the number of employees are regulated with proper Social Distancing norms being followed.
• Regular monitoring is ensured there is no crowding on arrival or at the Cafeteria or at accommodation.

Employee Tools

• Proper tools and gears for all Employees which include masks, gloves and also tools in various departments which shall minimize human touch.
• Only disposable masks are used.
• All employees to wear disinfected & clean gloves.
• All employees to isolate themselves in case they have any symptoms of cold or flu.

Employee Dining

• Shifts are staggered to avoid cafeteria crowding.
• Cafeteria hours have been altered to allow smaller groups over a longer period of time – the usage has been restricted to 33% of its capacity at any given time.

Kitchen

• All kitchens are sanitized at regular intervals.
• The number of staff has been limited to the minimum required; staff has been organized into teams to reduce interactions between teams.
• All staff wear disposable masks, gloves, hair nets and all other safety gear.
• Limited menus is run and ramp-up in a phased manner.
• Proper cleaning is ensured of vegetables, meats and all other materials that are required in the kitchens; we use approved sanitizing agents to disinfect.
• We also ensure that all tools get sanitized after each use.
• We also ensure that the area is sanitized at regular intervals.

Employees’ Medical Check ups

• We ensure regular health check-ups for employees; they even go through a complete medical examination prior to their recruitment and are inoculated with necessary shots too.
