The journey by road to Northern Areas of Pakistan is adventurous and spellbinding. You will have to start the journey from the Motorway and follow the road to Abbottabad , Mansehra to the Khaghan Valley . The route ascends steeply following the famous River Kunhar. The beautiful Lalusar Lake can be seen on the left hand side .You then drive through the famous Babusar pass at a height of 14000 feet entering the Gilgit /Baltistan Region turning right on the Karakorom Highway (KKH) The route of the KKH traces one of the many paths of the ancient Silk Road. It is also known as the “Eighth Wonder of the World”, a true marvel of engineering. There are more than 50,000 pieces of rock art all along the highway. The carvings were left by invaders, traders, and pilgrims who passed along the trade route, as well as by locals. The earliest date back to between 5000 and 1000 BC
